Fremantle Design Week
As the first design-specific festival in Western Australia, the inaugural Fremantle Design Week was a vibrant celebration of design in all its forms. Spanning seven days, this dynamic festival explored the profound impact of design on our individual and communal lives through a rich tapestry of exhibitions, conversations, tours, workshops, films, open studios, and special events.
Presented by DesignFreo, a collective founded in 2020 with the mission to strengthen Fremantle’s design community and highlight its creative abundance, Fremantle Design Week marked a significant milestone in the local cultural landscape.
Set in the walkable precinct of Walyalup/Fremantle, the festival provided a unique platform to connect audiences with both local and international designers. Showcasing a diverse array of creatives, makers, thinkers, and doers, the festival covered everything from tattoos and sound design to fashion, urban planning, and architecture.
Detail executed a highly successful public relations campaign to support the festival. Coverage highlights included exclusive features, cover stories and extensive online articles, resulting in more than 10,000 event attendees across the week and ticket sales over and above the targets set for the inaugural event.
