Strange Company named Perth’s Best Bar for 2019

Winners were grinners in Fremantle on Monday night as the annual WA Good Food Guide Awards were announced – naming Strange Company as Perth’s Best Bar for 2019.

Sitting alongside some of the very best in the Perth hospitality industry, Strange Company was hailed as a fun, easy-going venue with great attention paid to flavour-forward drinks, a carefully curated beverage menu and a stellar food offering paired against some of most welcoming interiors in town and a clever, chatty crew to boot. That sounds about right to us.

While we’re at it, there were a handful of other Freo folk who took out awards on the night and we’d love to give them a shout out too – Melissa Palinkas of Young George for Chef of the Year, Blaze Young from Lions & Tigers for Breakthrough Talent of the Year, and Adam Rees of Madalena’s for Young Chef of the Year. What an incredible hospitality crew we have residing right here in our port city.

We can certainly be a little biased when it comes to our local watering hole, but we’re pretty thrilled that our very own neighbourhood haunt took home this prestigious, well-deserved award. We’ll be celebrating bar-side if you feel like a drink.
