In the heart of West Perth lies Sage Hotel, a landmark heritage-listed building on the corner of Ventnor Avenue and Hay Street. For many years it housed Julio’s restaurant – well known for its rich and famous clientele from global music performers to colourful business identities.
The 1902 historic Walsh Family residence was the centrepiece of the $35 million-dollar development signalling the brands entry into the upscale hotel segment in Perth.
We were engaged by the SilverNeedle Hospitality Group to deliver a publicity campaign around the development and launch of the hotel. As part of this strategy, an official opening event was managed, which saw hundreds of guests, including stakeholders, VIPs and media, experience the unique West Perth venue.
Guests enjoyed Italian fare, including a four-metre antipasto spread, as well as music by jazz sensation Ali Bodycoat and San Cisco’s DJ Beryl Streep. A floor of the hotel was open for guests to explore, with a range of local purveyors in each room to discover. Each of the original mantelpieces were transformed with decadent floral installations for the evening.
Substantial media coverage was achieved nationally, resulting in a successful launch period for the hotel.
